Special Needs Alliance Conference
Riverside estate planning attorney Dennis M. Sandoval is one of only eight California attorneys who are members of the Special Needs Alliance, a nationwide nonprofit membership organization whose special needs planning attorneys assist persons with disabilities with Special Needs Trusts and other types of planning designed to maximize and preserve government assistance. He will be attending the Special Needs Alliance annual conference, which will be held in San Diego from March 22-24, 2018.
Education
At the conference there will be many speakers updating the attendees about changes in Social Security and Medi-Cal law, as well as other needs-based government assistance for special needs persons. Dennis will also get an update of the status of ABLE accounts for persons with disabilities, especially the much anticipated roll out of the CalAble account, projected to occur later in 2018. Other topics of discussion will be drafting and administering Special Needs Trusts, how the new Trump Tax Law will affect taxation of Special Needs Trusts and persons with disabilities, and what is done to address the needs for housing for persons with disabilities nationwide, especially here in California.
Specialist in Special Needs Trust Planning
Dennis is the only attorney in the Inland Empire who is a member of the Special Needs Alliance. He is certified by the California Bar Board of Legal Specialization as a Certified Estate Planning, Trust and Probate Law Specialist and Certified Taxation Law Specialist, as a Certified Elder Law Attorney (CELA) by the National Elder Law Foundation and as an Accredited Estate Planner (AEP) by the National Association of Estate Planners and Councils. He is the only attorney in California with all of these certifications. He is also a Fellow of the National Academy of Elder Law Attorneys, a designation given to less than 100 attorneys nationwide. Dennis devotes a significant portion of a practice to special needs planning and assisting persons with disabilities get and preserve government assistance as well as other types of assistance.
